Shiran fun shoot
Shiran stands in front of the camera, regal, poised and with an expressive gaze. A day at Hatachana or The Station, located in Israel between the cities of Jaffa and Tel Aviv and Shiran is ready to seize the day with her companion. She stands ready as the sun shines brightly and the tracks whisper with history. Shiran’s sentiment is firm and yet soft. At the drop of her hand, the lens shutters and the vanishing points vanish. ISRAEL
When a moment hits and you realize the world around you holds so much beauty a camera becomes such a valuable possession. This is Israel, through Alon David’s eyes. Simply this is how he sees it. Alon David Photography lets the camera lens reflect what his eyes see in this country where the past and the future come together to create the present. Vendors selling hand made crafts line the streets of ancient buildings while sprawling skylines rest on the coast. From Tel Aviv to Jaffa and in between, this is Israel. Vanishing points and shadows are positioned beautifully to highlight the architecture of the city. Hatachana or The Station is located between Jaffa and Tel Aviv was a new point of exploration for Alon. Here people gathered to browse various art galleries and enjoy the cafes. While in Jaffa the history whispered through alleys and arched corridors and in Tel Aviv growth is glowing with ever-growing skylines that shimmer in the evening. The ocean near by brings a sea breeze to the air and the sun casts brilliance over the sky. Alon David Photography brings all of this to a halt with the camera. Moments like this are easy to miss; moments like this are hard to share. A camera is a valuable tool in the moment. Baby Colleen
Two proud parents bring their child out for a day near the bay at the popular Mission Bay Park in San Diego, CA. They stay close to catch every laugh, every curious gaze and every second of joy the three of them to each other. Baby Colleen is bundled up just like mom and dad for the breezy sunny weather and they are certainly all ready for a day full of adventures. Charu Designs – Fashion Designer
Charu’s designs are playful and yet have a certain sense of sophistication to them. They are as she puts it inspired by dreams. The inspiration comes full circle as she looks at a piece of fabric and lets the dreams and passions take over and develop into a piece of sheer radiance. The fabric becomes her canvas. Every cut and every stitch lets her dreams come into play. She lets the style speak in its own sophisticated way. The fabric radiates with tones of poise, fun, and delicateness. Julie Ann Weinstein
Flashes from the Other World is a deliciously hard to describe snapshot of the quirky, and offbeat magic realism of Julie Weinstein. In this story collection relationships are presented with a tender wackiness. Tossed into the mix are mischievous ghosts (most of which are like well meaning relatives) which give the talking plants and even the seductive and vocal grains of sand a run for their money. One thing for sure in Flashes from the Other World is it’s a not-to-be-forgotten, off-the-wall delightful series of mini trips filled with characters that touch the heart, even if they tug at the funny bone first.
Bio:
Julie Ann Weinstein has published over ninety short stories, including the story collection, Flashes from the Other World and is a Pushcart Nominee. Published short stories and essays have appeared in the San Diego Union Tribune, North County Times, Los Angeles Journal, Pindeldyboz, Sacred Waters/Fire: (Adams Media 2005), Story South, Word Riot, Void Magazine, Storyglossia, Espresso Fiction, ISM Quarterly and other magazines. The author is an editorial consultant with A Word With You Press in Oceanside and is a recurring flash fiction workshop leader in the Southern California area. Past workshops have included, but are not limited to the Southern California Writers Conference and the San Diego County Library System. Julie is the author of Jen-Zen and the One Shoe Diaries (SynergEbooks.com). The author is also published under the name, Julie Ann Shapiro and lives in Encinitas and is presently working on two short story collections.

Flashes From The Other World is a wonderful read. The short stories simply lure you in and open up a whole new world. Julie Ann Weinstein’s short stories are flash fiction at its best. So many twist and turns, dreams and amazing characters that echo long after the book is closed. All these components are so wonderfully tied together. A fantastic read for any fiction fan.

Hawaii
Relax, unwind and envision yourself on the exotic island of Hawaii. Always a traveler and forever humbled by the beauty of nature, ALoN DaviD takes this five day get-away to Hawaii as a rare opportunity to do some still life photography. There’s nothing that escapes the click of his camera. From dolphins dipping in the sea, shorelines bursting against rough terrain, foliage covered in odd dots, a turtle’s lazy drift in the open ocean, a wave curling over in a perfectly clear barrel and a rainbow stretching its smooth arch out across the dewy sky. Even the rocks, balancing precariously, seem to have been staged for ALoN’s camera. Every scene creates the perfect still shot and the desire to see these places in person.

Skydive San Diego
Skydive San Diego- The wind whips at your face. Tugging and pulling at the unnaturalness of breaking human limits. Only the perfect photo can grab the moment and wordlessly show a non jumper the experience. Making the jump takes much guts and swooping in to landing in high spend takes more. Laying on the ground with lens held to the sky, as the jumper slides as gracefully as a baseball player stealing first, is not an easy task. With the back pressed against the grass the photographer dodges the parachute strings that could easily distort a shot or take a limb.
4th of July 2010
Everyone knows the zing and zip sound, squiggling through the air, spiraling up into the dark sky. There is a split second of silence, just before the Earth shaking BOOM! The tiny firework explodes into a dramatic bouquet of color. Reds, greens, blues, yellows and every color of the rainbow stretch and reach out across the midnight sky. Each firework bragging and boosting their best, striving to out do the last. Families and friends gather to watch to the show. Couples snuggle up on blankets, kids lay in their parents arms and gasp of “oh’s” and “ah’s” are heard everywhere. All the while ALoN David is snap photo after photo, capturing the bright colored burst in film forever.
Sunset Cliffs
Sometimes the best plan, is no plan. Its the sand in your toe, its a dip in the ocean, its riding a wave, its a relaxing day at Sunset Cliffs. A casual spring day at the beach with the camera turned out excellent! In one shot a woman contemplates the wave set and with deliberate placement of the camera, ALoN caught what could be her own self reflection in her board. In another shot, you can feel the unity of regulars at their favorite surf spot. Its a culture, its a way of life, its Rip Curl, its San Diego, its ALoN DaviD Photography.
iPhone Photography
Just for fun- If ever there was a moment you wish you had your camera this would be it. But when you don’t you improvise! Las Vegas was captured with just an iPhone. Anything from colored m&m’s to elephant waterfalls to the Wynn Hotel and the night lights of the Venetian, is proof that you can take a camera away from a photographer but you can’t take the photographer out ALoN DaviD
